The 2010 National Scout Jamboree will held form July 26 through August 4, 2010, at Fort A. P. Hill near Bowling Green Caroline County, Virginia.
The National Scout Jamboree significant unique opportunties for youth and leaders who participate. The objectives of the Jamboree are:
- Fun, excitement, and adventure
- Friendship/fellowship opportunites with Scouts from the U.S. and around the world
- Showcasing Scouting's ideals, aims, and methods
- Providing a mountaintop experience for all participants
- Individual development in Scout skills and leadership
- Providing a positive spiritual experience
- Experiencing the deiversity of our national and international community
- Providing opportunities to develop a healthy lifestyle
- Celebration the adventure and continuing the journey of our 100th Anniversary

Venturing
Weekend Camps
"Meet, greet, and beat peeps and peezos from around the council and beyond..." The Shenandoah Area Council Venturing-Exploring Weekend is held twice each year at camp Rock Enon. Crews and Posts compete against one another in events including sports, problem-solving, rock-climbing, marksmanship, and spirit!
Venturers and Explorers also have the chance to meet one another socially - there is a dance with a DJ and a lipsync/talent contest held on Saturday night. All meals are served in the dining hall and units stay in tents or in cabins. Showers and flush tilets are available!

Winterfest 2009
The dates are set, and fresh snow is on order for Winterfest 2009! January 30 - February 1, 2009, more than 2,000 Venturers, Explorers, and leaders will converge on Gatlinburg for anouther year of the largest event of its kind in America. Plan now to promote this event to your crews and posts as a great activity for their participation. Experience has shown that units attending Winterfest recharter and retain more youth, are more active in other local events, sell more popcorn, and have higher attendance at First Nighter events. Additonal information, along with the full leader's guide will be available later this summer.
