Service Projects
A memo from the Camp Ranger:
Greetings from Camp Rock Enon. I would like to take this space to thank all of those who have worked to make the camp a wonderful experience for Scouts and Scouters, and those who continue to do so. Although the list of names would be too lengthy for this space, and realizing that I would neglect to mention someone who has helped the camp greatly through service and/or funding, I will just say: THANKS TO ALL OF YOU.
Because it is an impossible task for the camp ranger and assistant ranger to do all that is necessary to properly maintain over 800 acres of "rustic splendor" that is Camp Rock Enon, we are dependent on many others to provide funds, materials, equipment, and service. They include:
-
Individuals, either involved in Scouting or someone who just loves Camp Rock Enon
-
Campmasters
-
Civic groups and business organizations
-
Packs, troops, and crews working in the Adopt-A-Site Program or in service project for rank advancement or camp improvement project
-
Beaver's Day Crews (see explanation in next paragraph below)
-
Camp Staff, both paid and volunteer
-
Shenshawpotoo Lodge #276 of the Order of the Arrow
-
George Mason Chapter, Amangamek Wipit Lodge of the Order of the Arrow
Yours in Scouting,
Frank Moore, Camp Ranger
Mike Smith, Sr. Assistant Ranger

Conservation Projects
Conservation of Natural Resources has been an integral part of the Boy Scout movement since its inception. But conservation does not mean "leave alone". The forests, wildlife, and waters of Camp Rock Enon are dynamic natural ecosystems that can be nurtured by applying scientifically based management practices to maintaini and increase their health and benefits. The conservation Plan, updated every 5years, and the list of needed conservation projects reflects this stewarship philosophy.
