Details:

Wood Badge is the highest level of Scout leadership training and provides you with the tools to be a superior leader.  The leadership skills taught here are for leaders from all Scouting areas including Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, Venturing, and the district and council.  The course utilizes a classroom environment, outdoor experiences and practical exercises to teach the essentials of leadership.  You'll learn what makes leadership work for you in Scouting and your personal life as well as the application of leadership skills.  You must attend all program dates and participate in all sessions.  You will also need to attend one ore more meetings your group schedules between the course weekends.  Both course weekends will be at Camp Rock Enon.

 

Who May Attend Wood Badge?

To attend Wood Badge, Scouters must:

  1. Be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America
  2. Have not previously attended a Wood Badge for the 21st Century Wood Badge Course.
  3. Have completed the basic training courses for their Scouting position.
  4. Have completed the outdoor skills training program appropriate to their Scouting positions.
  5. Be capable of functioning safely in an outdoor environment.  (Submission of the BSA Annual Health and Medical Record Form Parts A, B & C is required for all participants.  Click HERE for that form)

  • Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills

All participants are encouraged to complete the Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills training before attending a Wood Badge course.  it is required for Troop and Crew leaders.

Fee covers program and training materials, all food for the first weekend, 1 participant T-shirt, 1 participant cap, and (upon completion of training program) Wood Badge presentation kit.
