Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)

Outdoor skills are critical to the success of the Scouting program.  Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) provides adult leaders with the basic outdoor skills and information needed to run the program right.  The program focuses on skills that build confidence and competence in leaders conducting outdoor camping experiences.  This training is required for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Varsity Team Coaches and assistants, and is also ideal for Venture Crew Leaders and Webelos Den Leaders and assistants; as well as anyone interested in gaining outdoor skills.  All meals included except for Friday dinner.

Where:  Camp Rock Enon; Gore, VA

When:  April 12-14, 2019

Check-in:  5:00pm

Start Time:  7:00pm

Cost:  $35 if paid by 3/22; $50 from 3/23-3/31; $65 from 4/1-4/7.  Registration closes on 4/7.  Absolutely no walk-ins will be accepted.

IOLS is conducted as a Boy Scout Troop/Patrol experience using the Patrol Method.  Patrol assignments will be made during check-in.

Each Patrol will be assigned to its own campsite.  Family members and persons from the same Scout Unit may be assigned to different patrols.  This may preclude the sharing of camping gear.

A copy of your BSA Health & Medical form is required for each person attending this event and must be turned in at check-in.
