The following is from our Area Director, Rodney Carpenter:

Now that info has come out regarding the WSJ. I wanted to make sure you all know how troops are being allocated throughout SR Area 7.

Troop #1 (Roanoke, Greensboro, & Winston Salem)

Troop #2 (Raleigh)

Troop #3 (Wilmington, Goldsboro, & Kinston)

Troop #4 (Richmond, Newport News, Virginia Beach, Waynesboro, & Winchester)

Troop #5 (Overflow/waiting list troop/Area will make final allocation for this troop)

Troop #6 (Potential Venturing Crew)

Mark Larson, out of Richmond will be our overall WSJ Chair. He is currently contacting individuals to help with Troop promotions. These individuals will be working with your councils International Rep and/or WSJ Champion.

I would strongly encourage all councils to start promoting. Most spots are first come first serve, payments must be made according to payment schedule for individuals to be assured a spot. Interested adults should also apply for troop leadership and staff positions. Those youth and adults that go on a waiting list must also continue to make payments as scheduled.

Please realize that there is a strong possibility that we will have youth who will not be able to attend because of limited space and that means we will surely have adults that do not get to go with a troop since there are only 3 adults and an adult youth for each troop.

All Troop leaders will be selected by our area leadership. Details on obtaining feedback from councils is still be discussed.
