The Silver Beaver Award was introduced in 1931 and is a council-level distinguished service award and is the highest honor a council may award a volunteer. A copy of the nomination form can be obtained at www.sac-bsa.org/advancement/adult-leader-recognition . Nominations must be received on the official form. Nominations are due to the Council Service Center no later than December 31st.

The Statuette Award is a unique Shenandoah Area Council Award that is presented to volunteers at all levels for their exceptional service to the youth in the council. To nominate a volunteer, you may download a copy of the form at www.sac-bsa.org/advancement/adult-leader . Nominations are due to the Council Service Center no later than December 31st.

Don’t assume that someone has already received either/both the Silver Beaver and/or Statuette. Go to www.sac-bsa/advancement/adult-leader to see the list of past recipients.

These awards are not earned but awarded based upon nomination to a select group of Scouters for exceptional service to youth and to the communities in the District/Unit level (Statuette) and the Council/District level (Silver Beaver).
