SAC Myth Buster: The Council has not put any money into Camp Rock Enon for routine maintenance and camp projects. FACT: in 2011 the Council spent (minus donations and summer camp operations) $61,000 in maintenance, renovations, new equipment, special projects, and purchase of program items with an additional $48,870 in normal routine operations of year round camp. That is a total of $110,870 out of pocket by the Council ($81,000 non-budgeted) spent this year on Camp Rock Enon outside of summer camp operations. On top of the above actual costs, we are thankful for more than $24,000 in donated materials and labor on the projects completed this year. For more details or to help with recuperating non-budgeted funds with a donation please contact the Council Service Center at 540-662-2551 and speak with either Stuart Williams or Mark Pennington. You may also contact Rick Bush, VP of Properties; Mike Spory, VP of Programs; Chip Bennett, Council Commissioner. Always feel free to express your concerns, or send in your myth question directly to me, Wilborn Roberson, Council President.
