FACT: 100% of all registration fees and Boys’ Life subscriptions go to the National Office when we process the application or recharter. In addition, the council must pay a national service fee and membership license fee. National supply items bought from the council Scout shop has a 75% return to National. All council operations must be funded locally relying on Friends of Scouting that includes individuals and businesses in the community, Scouting families, product sales, bequests, endowment. More details on Who Pays for Scouting can be found at www.sac-bsa.org under the Support Scouting tab. For more details or to become a Friend of Scouting, please contact the Council Service Center at 540-662-2551 and speak with either Stuart Williams or Mark Pennington. You may also contact Kit Molden, VP of Finance; Mike Spory, VP of Programs; Chip Bennett, Council Commissioner.
