National BSA announces a new online content hub We are pleased to announce that National BSA announces a new online content hub, Scouting Wire.
Scouting Wire (www.scoutingwire.org)-takes the idea of sharing news and information and multiplies it in scale, functionality, and reach. Essentially, it will be THE source for BSA news and information for employees, volunteers, and parents, all the way down to the unit level. It enables a new level for the sharing of ideas and information that will improve the way we deliver Scouting at the unit level to directly benefit the youth we serve.
What Makes a Trained Leader Recognizing the importance of a quality program, and the desire of reducing risk management and improving retention, we recommend that in order for a unit to recharter all unit leaders must be trained for the position they serve by January 2015.
Dear Friend of Scouting: May 30, 2014
Dear Friend of Scouting:
On behalf of our youth members and adult volunteers, I want to personally thank you for your gift to our Friends of Scouting campaign. Because of your commitment, the Shenandoah Area Council has been able to impact our local community. Collectively, Scouts across our council have given more than 190,000 hours of volunteer service and collected more than 70,000 pounds of food for the needy. Based on the national volunteer hour value, that translates into more than $4.1 million dollars given back to our local nine-county area through Scouting.
New BSA Medical Forms Deciding which version of the BSA's Annual Health and Medical Record you need shouldn't raise your blood pressure.
