  • Dear Friend of Scouting:
May 30, 2014 Dear Friend of Scouting: On behalf of our youth members and adult volunteers, I want to personally thank you for your gift to our Friends of Scouting campaign. Because of your commitment, the Shenandoah Area Council has been able to impact our local community. Collectively, Scouts across our council have given more than 190,000 hours of volunteer service and collected more than 70,000 pounds of food for the needy. Based on the national volunteer hour value, that translates into more than $4.1 million dollars given back to our local nine-county area through Scouting.
  • Program Updates 2014 and Beyond!
The next three years promise to be exciting for Scouting as all three of our traditional programs will be updated based on several years of volunteer-led research and development. Venturing is first up in 2014 with a totally new program and recognition approach focusing on progressive development in adventure, leadership, and service to others and personal growth.
