Only the strong and fearless need apply!
The name says it all. This is not just another Scout camp program. This program offers adventures to those that dare to try, a program where being prepared, being physically strong, and being mentally awake are keys to survival for those fearless enough to apply. An adventure where leadership, challenges and fun are inescapable ingredients for those strong enough to take the challenge.
This is not your family vacation to the mountains! This is learning to thrive in a mountain wilderness playground. Beyond hiking high peaks, and swimming ice waterfalls, you’ll climb some of the best and most respected rock climbing destinations in the East.
Those that dare, will experience a wide range of activities that may include hiking part of the Appalachian Trail, biking on the C&O, finding you base camp using clues and your navigational skills. You may spend the day Canyoneering, rock climbing, swimming, river tubing, and then part of your night rappelling over a cliff 4,000 feet above the valley floor, all by moonlight.
Along the way you will be immersed in a Leave No Trace outdoor ethic/lifestyle that will lead to your certification as a Leave No Trace Trainer.
Minimum age is 14. Qualified Registered adult Scout leaders are encouraged to participate. All participants need to be in excellent physical condition, have a positive mental attitude, and have passed the BSA swimmers test. See registration forms to apply now.
Logistics: Sunday night – in camp planning, shakedown, and load out, followed by Monday morning departure, not to return to Camp Rock Enon until Friday evening. Team will be van-supported, ie self support and backpacking all gear will not be necessary.
