Week 2 beginning on July 28

  • 1 week of camp = $125
  • 2 weeks of camp = $190

When will registration for Cyberquipe CLOSE?

Sunday, July 1, 2024 for Week 1 Cyberquipe Scouts.

Sunday, July 7, 2024 for Week 2 Cyberquipe Scouts

During the weeks leading up to camp, Cyberquipe Camp Staff will be filling Bling Boxes and getting them in the mail.  In order for Cyberquipians to receive their Bling Boxes in time for Cyberquipe,

NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE TO THE CLOSE DATES.

How does Cyberquipe work?

Scouts will receive a Cyberquipe gmail account a few days before camp begins.  IT IS A MUST that all Cyberquipe Scouts use the Cyberquipe Gmail Account to access ALL THINGS CYBERQUIPE.  Scouts will not be able to access Google Classroom or other fun activities without the Cyberquipe Gmail Account.

What are the times for the Merit Badges?

There are no specific times. We have scouts joining us from across the country. We provide a google meet (for each badge) at the beginning of each week (Sunday or Monday) where counselors share requirements, resources and expectations.  There are specific times for those opening meets.  A schedule for those meets will be shared a few days in advance of the week of camp. Some counselors provide a midweek (Wed or Thurs)  google meet check in and time for scouts to make presentations for requirements. Our counselors communicate via email, Google Classrooms and Google Meet if requested. 2 DEEP LEADERSHIP is a MUST within a Google Meet and all communications.  A parent/guardian MUST be present for the Google Meets for scouts.

How many merit badges can you earn each week?

You can earn 5 Merit Badges per week of Cyberquipe. Some scouts have tried to complete 4 or 5 Eagle Required badges in a week.  Eagle Required badges take much more time and effort to complete.  We recommend taking NO MORE than 3 Eagle Required badges per week.  We want scouts to enjoy the week of Cyberquipe.

Where can I find the Prerequisites for the Merit Badges my scout is going to take?

You will find the Prerequisites for the badges in the Leader/Participant Guide

What if a scout is not able to finish the badge within the week of Cyberquipe?

Merit Badge Counselors will provide a date to scouts at the end of each week of Cyberquipe.  The date the counselor shares with the scouts will be the last & final time the Counselor will be willing to work with scouts from Cyberquipe.  Many of our counselors will work through August with scouts.  Some badges that have a 3 month requirement, counselors will work with scouts until the 3 months is up, which is many times into October or the beginning of November.

What is Spirit Day

Just like at Camp Sinoquipe. on Wednesday during Cyberquipe, Scouts are encouraged to take a break from requirements and get outside to engage in some fun activities.  Scouts earn points for the activities that they complete on the Spirit Day Activities List. Spirit Day winners are announced at the Wednesday evening Virtual Campfire.

What is the Evening Virtual Campfire?

On Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday of camp at 8 PM EST Cyberquipe holds a virtual campfire experience.  Troops from the local Shenandoah Area Council, Mason Dixon District provide a fun night including skits, songs and games!

When will the Bling Boxes be mailed to Cyberquipe Scouts?

Our plan is to have all Bling Boxes mailed to Cyberquipe Scouts by the week of July 14, 2024, so that scouts will receive their box in plenty of time for camp. For those scouts registered before June 15th, Bling Boxes will be mailed out the last week of June. For those scouts registered AFTER June 15th, Bling Boxes will be mailed out AFTER the Registration CLOSE DATE.

Registration Questions using the Tentaroo system

Do I need to make an account in Shenandoah Area Council’s Tentaroo  registration system or can I use my Council account?

You must create an account in the Shenandoah Area Council’s Tentaroo registration in order to register for Cyberquipe.   If you have joined us for Cyberquipe in the past then you may have an account already and can use that log-in information from the past.

What is the difference between registering my scout with a Troop vs. as an individual scout in Tentaroo?

The person who creates the Tentaroo account is the person that has ACCESS to the registration and to the partial and/or completed blue cards at the end of camp or when scouts complete the badges.

When I am signing up for badges there is only one time slot available for all badges.

There are no specific times so there is only one time slot needed.   See the above question “What are the times of the Merit Badges?” for more information. When registering in Tentaroo when you sign up for 5 badges,  you may get a message saying your schedule is not full.  The Cyberquipe limit of badges you can sign up for during one session is 5.  You will be able to check out with 5 badges.  Continue through the check out process.

Will I be able to edit my merit badge choices between now and the weeks of Cyberquipe?

No, unfortunately there is no way to edit the MB choices once you are registered.
