SAC ALERT: INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE

In Scouting we always strive to "Be Prepared". With the impending weather Friday night, we feel it is best to relay our weather plan now.

Rather than wait to see if we get snow or how much we get, we are going to err on the side of safety and postpone the opening of the merit badge college and rearrange our schedule. This is done so that crews will have ample time to clear roadways and so HCC has time to clear the parking lots and sidewalks. Our Merit Badge College Schedule will be as follows:

Revised Inclement Weather Schedule

  • Registration will be from 9:30-10
  • Opening at 10 am
  • Session 1 will be 10:15-11:45
  • Lunch from 11:45-12:20
  • Session 2 will be 12:20-1:50
  • Session 3 will be 2:00-3:15
  • Session 4 will be 3:30-4:45

If you are unable to attend the college on Saturday, you will find that by March 1st we will update in tentaroo all requirements that were completed so that your Scout can find a merit badge counselor to help them with the remaining requirements.

In the event we get so much snow that Hagerstown Community College closes you can find that notification on their website. Or if you would like to sign up for HCC Emergency Alerts, you can text HAWK360 to 333111. This way you will get an alert if HCC closes. If HCC closes, our event will be postponed.

Stay safe and I hope to see you Saturday!
