Distinguished Citizen Award (DCA) Dinner

The Distinguished Citizen Award (DCA) Dinner is an annual event that recognizes community members who give their time and talents to youth. The proceeds from the event benefit the Shenandoah Area Council's operations and camps, which provide a Scouting experience for youth regardless of their economic circumstances.

The Distinguished Citizen Award is presented to individual community leaders who provide outstanding civic service to the youth and/or adults in the community. Those who receive the award are not necessarily actively involved in the BSA, but rather individuals who exemplify what the Boy Scouts of America stands for – good citizenship, outstanding moral fiber with a dedication to others, and living their lives by the Scout Oath and Law.
