Scouting For Food

A Shenandoah Area Council Service Project

Scouting For Food is a National Good Turn Scouting project conducted nationwide. Each local council organizes its effort to collect food for local food distribution organizations. Planning for the 2023 Scouting For Food is underway!

The Scouting For Food project takes place on the first two Saturdays in November, the 4th and 11th.

Door Hanger Distribution: Saturday, November 4, 2023

Scouts will be distributing flyers/door hangers to households within their community.

Food Collection: Saturday, November 11, 2023

Scouts will be picking up food from households where door hangers were placed on the first Saturday in November. Please have your donations out by 8:00 a.m. If food has not been picked up by 1:00 PM, please contact us so that arrangements to pick it up can be made. Any household that did not receive a door hanger but would like to participate may drop their food donations off at one of the following locations:
