Get ready for an electrifying experience as we take the traditional Pinewood Derby to a whole new level - under the mesmerizing glow of blacklights! Join us for a an event of thrilling races, vibrant colors, and a unique twist on the classic scouting event. Here's everything you need to know:

The Shawnee District Pinewood Derby is open to all Cub Scouts and Siblings/friends in the Potomac District. We will have awards for 1st -3rd in each rank and the Sibling/friends division. The top three scouts in each rank advance to the Shenandoah Area Council Pinewood Derby. There will even be an award for Best Black Light Design. 

We encourage participants to get creative with their car designs by incorporating glow-in-the-dark paint(UV reactice, and the UV reactive BSA pinewood wheels and other fluorescent accents. Prizes will be awarded not only for speed but also for the most innovative and visually striking designs.

This event is not just for the scouts; it's a family affair! Bring everyone along to enjoy the excitement and camaraderie. We will have an open division for any siblings, parents or friend that want to join the racing fun. Get ready to light up the track at the Blacklight District Pinewood Derby!

Cost is $10.00 per Racer

12:30 - 2:00 PM  FINALS Race (*Top 3 Racers from each Den)
