Wilderness First Aid (WFA)

About Wilderness First Aid
This course is required for Philmont and other high-adventure bases by the BSA. It is highly recommended for units involved in activities where you are further than 1 hour from EMS.
Prerequisites
Current certification in adult CPR/AED is required to take the Wilderness First Aid training course. You must provide a copy of your certification at the start of the WFA course.
CPR/AED Training
For those without a current CPR/AED certification, a separate CPR/AED course is offered on Friday night starting at 6:00 PM and will run until the training is complete.
Fees
BSA Members:
- CPR/AED $20 per person ($10 late fee)
- WFA $100 per person ($25 late fee)
Non-BSA Members:
- CPR/AED $30 per person ($10 late fee)
- WFA $150 per person ($25 late fee)
Note
The fee includes course materials, meals, and camping accommodations. Please pack as if you were hiking in the backcountry! The class has limited slots and will be filled on a first-paid/first-in basis. After receiving your registration and payment you will be registered for the course. The class will be canceled if the minimum of 6 participants is not met. In case of cancellation, your fee will be refunded. Other than “Event Cancellation” there is a No Refund Policy for this event.
